Description

In Chinese culture the iris flower symbolises long lasting friendship and romance making it the perfect muse for painting. Taking a design featuring a single wild iris on a short stem in the style of Chinese brush painting, Margaret Lee has masterfully reproduced the same look and feel as a painting, using Random Stitch Embroidery.

SPECIAL NOTE | Instructions for this project are included in the book ‘The Art of Chinese Embroidery 2 | Intermediate Level’, however some prior knowledge is assumed based on techniques presented in ‘The Art of Chinese Embroidery 1 | Foundation Level’, therefore depending on your familiarity with Chinese Embroidery, both books may be required for reference.
