More about this digital file
Description
The superb fairy-wren, or blue wren as it is more commonly known, is the subject of this superb lifelike study. Two adult birds, one displaying the stunning blue and black plumage of a breeding male, sit on a slender twig. A cosy nest has two hungry chicks, their tiny beaks open in anticipation of the coming meal. Stitched onto linen blend fabric with a range of textured silk threads, this lovely embroidery celebrates one of Australia’s favourite little birds.
