More about this digital file
Description
Few historical documents have had the same lasting impact as the Magna Carta.
Drafted in 1215, the amended document finally became part of English law in 1297 and the elaborate E monogrammed onto this needlebook and scissor fob acknowledge the role played by King Edward 1.
Worked onto pure white linen with stranded and perlé cottons, the ornate script reflects the writing style of the time and is stitched using the beautiful trailing technique.
