Description
Inspired by the Jacobean designs utilised in English crewel work, Deerfield embroidery originated in the USA in the 19th century.
Originally worked with linen thread in a palette of indigo, it employs much lighter, more open designs than its English cousin.
This delightful pincushion features a dainty design incorporating a small bird and several stylised flowers.
Stitched onto white linen with cotton threads, it is finished with a pretty beaded edge decorated with blue tassels.
