Description
Outstanding design and exquisite detail are both hallmarks of this divine style of embroidery known as Punto Antico or antique stitches, a classical Italian technique that dates back to the 1400s.
Intricate hem stitches form a border around this rectangular cloth and the central motifs are worked in a combination of counted and drawn thread techniques.
Worked in ivory thread onto ivory linen, the monochrome colour scheme accentuates the richly textured surface of this beautiful style of stitching.
