Birds make for wonderful embroidery subjects. The variety of species and colours presents endless possibilities for the embroiderer.
The satisfaction lies as much in selecting techniques, stitches and colours to replicate the bird in nature or the artistic impression intended by the artist, as in seeing the picture emerge stitch by stitch.
