Description
The breeding plumage of the Australian male splendid fairy wren is predominantly blue only during mating season, varying from vivid cobalt-blue in the east of its range to violet-blue in the west.
Trish Burr of South Africa has artfully captured a hopeful young chap in all his finery with this sublime threadpainted study.
