Description
Velvety pansies, in rich shades of garnet and violet, decorate these enchanting needlework accessories, making them as lovely to look at as they are to use. Worked onto rust silk dupion, the set includes a tape measure cover with two cheeky-faced flowers on the front and an intricate, gridded design, embroidered with gold thread, on the reverse.
Similar blooms decorate the front of the pincushion and a delicate spray of beaded forget-me-nots adds a pretty detail on the back.
Larger, stemmed pansy sprays are stitched onto the remaining pieces, again accompanied by sweet forget-me-nots plus Queen Anne’s lace on the needlebook.
An embroidered initial graces the back of both the scissor sheath and needlebook and all pieces are finished with an edging of pearl purl.
A variety of gleaming gold beads are used to form the pull on the tape measure and the catch on the needlebook.
