Description
Crewel embroidery designs often include all manner of creatures - from whimsical birds with elaborate tails, ferocious lions and cheeky monkeys to noble stags, dogs, horses and other inhabitants of the forest.
The red fox is the focus of this design, strolling across a field dotted with flowers beneath a canopy of oak leaves, his splendid brushy tail sweeps along behind his sleek body.
Worked with crewel wools onto linen twill, this enchanting image would make a fun cushion or framed piece.
