Description
In Chinese art, flowers often have some symbolism attached to them.
The morning glory is unusual in that it has no such attribute but is, nevertheless, a frequently painted subject.
This could be due to the vibrant colour and the interesting funnel-shaped flower, deeply three-lobed leaves, curving stems and tendrils of the plant.
There are historical records which suggest that the morning glory was used for medicinal purposes in China.
