More about this digital file
Description
Crewel embroidery, also known as Jacobean work, has a long history and the designs are characterised by sinuous lines, fanciful shapes and richly varied colour schemes.
Whilst traditional in style, this enchanting scene of rounded hillocks and curving stems uses a more contemporary palette of fresh greens with turquoise and Wedgewood blues.
Worked onto a natural linen ground, the embroidery has been inserted into the top of a wooden box but would look just as stunning as a framed piece or could be enlarged to create a superb cushion.
