This splendid puffin, arresting with his plumage of black and white, sits on a background of soft blue flannel.

The striking tangerine of the beak and feet contrast beautifully with the sombre tones of the feathers and fabric.

Decorating the front of a drawstring bag, the birds are stitched with a combination of wool, cotton, rayon and silk threads.

The bag is lined with navy gingham and closes with a tasselled cord.
