More about this digital file
Description
Some folklorists declare that the Greater Bird of Paradise, a resident of Papua New Guinea, is the creature that inspired belief in the Phoenix, its smoky red flight plumage and wispy yellow display feathers, together, the dying embers of the old and bright flames of the new, as the bird is reborn in fire.
Celebrating 20 years of publishing her work with Inspirations, Helen has stitched the magnificent Greater Bird of Paradise beneath an arched branch of guava, her trademark silk filament stitching glowing against a background of sombre black.
