More about this digital file
Description
Inspired by a traditional Japanese mon or family emblem, this delightful study of a grapevine and tiny ladybird utilises surface embroidery, stumpwork and goldwork techniques.
Set against a circular lattice of gleaming gold, the sinuous stems are laden with bunches of shimmering garnet grapes and bright green leaves.
Worked onto cream silk fabric with silk and cotton threads, the scene is completed with a tiny red ladybird on the lower right edge.
