Description
A form of whitework, Dresden embroidery employs pulled thread and surface embroidery techniques to replicate lace.
Very popular in 18th century Europe, it was produced in several countries but has its origins in Dresden, the capital of Saxony in the south-east of Germany.
This charming heart, worked onto linen with a variety of cotton threads, is an ideal introduction to this beautiful technique.
With the leaves and flower centres filled with delicate patterns, this design would be perfect for use as a ring cushion.
