Description

The instructions for this design are provided in the book The Art of Chinese Embroidery 2 | Intermediate Level as a tutorial lesson for the purpose of teaching the basics of Random Stitch Embroidery.

Too beautiful to leave just as an instructional exercise, we have released the design ‘A Pair of Random Apples’ as a Ready-To-Stitch kit which you can use to practice the stitches and concepts introduced in Random Stitch Embroidery, and create a stunning finished design at the same time.

Each apple is the same design, but stitched in two different ways:

• Apple 1 is worked with longer and more acute crossing of stitches following the contour of the shape to produce a realistic effect.

• Apple 2 is worked with stitches that are more open to replicate an oil painting of the image.
