What Are You Stitching?

2ND AUGUST 2024 - ASU #438

Jackie Williams

‘I have been listening to the cricket broadcast because it makes my stitching go faster and faster!

I have completed the four Hazel Everett offerings, which I hope to hang as decorations on this year’s tree.’

‘No. 5 is in preparation – a friend joins me one Wednesday each month, to start the next one, which MUST be completed before we venture to the next.

Oh dear, another batter just got out. Must be time for lunch!’

These are gorgeous, Jackie! Your tree will glint from every angle. We do hope you have found some more cricket games to listen to, so your workflow can remain productive!

Sue Duke

‘This is ‘From My Garden’ by Trish Burr in Inspirations issue 84.’

‘I always have a few projects on the go at one time. The smaller projects are great in between the larger ones as they boost your confidence to plod on with the big ones!’

Sue, your threadpainted sweat peas are a delight! And we love your project philosophy, as many a stitcher can also attest that ‘in-between projects’ can indeed help make our larger projects feel easier to accomplish.

Nea Helder

‘I live in the Netherlands, and I really enjoy doing stumpwork. I have made a cat series with different types of hair.’

‘The grey cat, Dorris, I made with long hair was a lot of fun to do. He is sitting on a table with my favourite craft supplies around him.’

‘The red Tommy cat has his friend with him, a gala cockatoo who looks curiously in the thread basket. And the cat in the flower garden enjoys the autumn sun and the many flowers.’

Your cat series is fantastic, Nea! We love all the different techniques you’ve used, the fabulous shapes you have formed, and your choice of colours make them look just like fur. Thank you for sharing them with us!

Do you like to have something on while you stitch? Do you complete little projects in-between larger ones? Or have you stitched some fluffy animals?

Whatever you are stitching, we’d love to see it! Email photos of what you’ve created with needle and thread along with a few details about your stitching journey to news@inspirationsstudios.com
