What Are You Stitching?

‘A project from Inspirations never fails to delight. I have completed several over the years and finally entered a couple in the Minnesota State Fair.’
‘I ordered the kit for Victoria Laine’s Sweete Bag as soon as my copy of Inspirations issue #99 arrived back in 2018 and spent countless rewarding hours working on it off and on over the next four years.
The fibres and materials were a joy to work with and the design is stunning.
It was finally finished in time to carry to a granddaughter’s wedding, although it is so small it can hold nothing more than a handkerchief. The Sweete Bag won a blue ribbon in its category and the coveted Curt Pederson Memorial Needlework Award as the ‘people’s choice’ in all needlework categories.’
‘My other entry was Trish Burr’s Tuscan Landscape, which is a needlepainting piece with 62 shades of DMC floss in a 10cm by 14cm (4″ x 5.5″) rectangle! The Landscape won the red ribbon in its category but that was good enough for runner-up in the Sweepstakes in Embroidery and Crewel.
Thank you, Inspirations, and thank you Victoria Laine and Trish Burr for providing so much fun and adding so much beauty to my life.’
We’re so glad you enjoyed stitching Victoria’s Sweete Bag Jane, it is quite the project! Both projects have been stitched beautifully and we think they are very well deserving of their prizes! Thank you for your kind words, we’re so pleased to have the opportunity to bring you some stitching joy.

‘I wanted to let you know that I entered several projects I made from your magazine into our county fair this week. With about a million residents in the county, it is a large and competitive affair.’
‘I entered Red Treasure Chest and Balthazar, which you previously featured in All Stitched Up!, from inspirations issue #116, as well as Gillian and Squarely Check. All received blue first place ribbons!’
‘I also made the Celeste Fig from The Design Collective – Pincushions book and took second place.’
‘These were all so much fun to make. Gillian was my favourite, Balthazar was my first stumpwork, the treasure chest my first box, and Squarely Check was made from scraps in my stash. I’m delighted with all.’
What an amazing collection of well deserving 1st place prizes Miryam! It sounds like you have been busy and pushing yourself to try new techniques. Well done!
Have you stitched an Inspirations project? Have you entered your stitching into a competition? Or challenged yourself to a new technique?
