Remembrance Day
10TH NOVEMBER 2023 - ASU #404
November 11th is observed as Remembrance Day in many countries around the world, formally marking the end of the First World War in 1918.
As an homage to Remembrance Day, we have some wonderful ready-to-stitch kits to help commemorate the occasion.
The iconic red poppy is reflective of the flowers that grew on the French battlefields and symbolises the graves of the soldiers.
Fittingly, Jo Butcher’s In Flanders Fields and Philippa Todd’s Remember are two stunning projects featuring red poppies.
In Flanders Fields is also the featured project for November in the Inspirations 2024 Wall Calendar (available HERE), giving you a wonderful display of these vibrant florals for the whole month.
As with many other commemorative dates, the embroidery community does a wonderful job memorialising history with our stitching and Remembrance Day is another opportunity for us to pay our respects with needle and thread.
