We can think of no better way to start 2025 than to share with you the back story of Enchanted Embroidery by Jenny Adin-Christie and further explain our exuberant claims of magnificence.
Let’s begin by answering the question – who is Jenny Adin-Christie?
Jenny’s career stems from a rich family heritage of craftsmanship based in the United Kingdom. She was taught to stitch and become a maker from an early age thanks to her parents who also gave her a love and respect for fine craftsmanship.
Jenny’s embroidery is grounded in the highest of technical skills, honed on the Apprenticeship, from which she graduated with distinction in 1996, with awards in goldwork and silk shading. She was honoured with full-time employment at the Royal School of Needlework, a role that allowed the enviable opportunity to hone her skills on various atelier commissions and as a tutor on a broad range of courses.
Jenny soon became widely recognised as a specialist in the fields of whitework, metal thread, raised embroidery/stumpwork and embroidery design.
She developed techniques for the repair and conservation of items of fine whitework and lace; developed ranges of kit designs for DMC and the RSN; created new embroidered artworks for sale; and worked on large embroideries of national significance.
These included designing and guiding the RSN Studio team to produce new All Seasons and Lenten frontals for Canterbury Cathedral, the Jubilee Woolsack for the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and embroideries for the album cover of Paul McCartney’s Ecce Cor Meum; and working on the new curtains for the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
Through her love of fine whitework, Jenny was asked to play a key role in the RSN Studio’s commission to create the lace panels for the world-famous wedding gown worn by HRH The Princess of Wales at her wedding to HRH The Prince of Wales in 2011.
In 2023 Jenny returned to join the team contributing to the embroidery of the regalia for the coronation of HM King Charles III.
A true pinnacle in an embroiderer’s career.
As Jenny approaches nearly 25 years in the embroidery world, international accolades for her and her work are abundant. Today she runs her own design studio and is celebrated around the world as a professional hand embroidery artist, designer and tutor. She is renowned for her unique approach to traditional hand embroidery, for her innovative designs and inspirational teaching.
With such an impressive biography and having worked with Jenny first-hand through publishing some of her projects and her teaching at our needlework conventions, the team here at Inspirations Studios knew that someday, Jenny Adin-Christie was going to release her own book. And we wanted Inspirations to be Jenny’s publisher of choice.
Early conversations about the possibility of producing a book together started as far back as 2017, then in 2021 the project was confirmed. In 2022 a production schedule was locked in, and work began in 2023 all the way through to late last year when it finally went to print.
The opportunity to publish a collection of Jenny’s projects was a great honour and significant milestone, 8 years in the making.
Inspirations is renowned for producing some of the most beautiful needlework publications in the world, so when you’re talking about one of the elite needlework artisans in the world, it was a collaboration that not only made perfect sense, it was one that just had to happen!
Enchanted Embroidery | The Stitched Art of Jenny Adin-Christie is a magnificent publication for several reasons.
Our entire team here at Inspirations poured our collective heart and soul into bringing this book to life. Every single detail has been meticulously considered, crafted and coiffured.
We did this to honour and respect the level of craftsmanship that Jenny herself has poured into her work.

The projects featured in Enchanted Embroidery are nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the time Jenny takes to invent processes, create unique ways to achieve specific outcomes and even develop bespoke elements in order to bring her stitched creations to life.
She does all of this in a creative whirlwind of brilliance yet then takes the additional time, copious amounts of additional time, to meticulously document every step so that we can all go on the journey with her.

A Special Note About Enchanted Embroidery Kits
Whenever a creative powerhouse like Jenny Adin-Christie pushes the boundaries of embroidery, it often results in the use of truly magnificent materials to do each project justice.
These materials can at times be hard to source and, as is the case for several projects featured in this book, include bespoke elements designed and hand-crafted specifically for and by Jenny.
To help you re-create the Enchanted Embroidery projects that you are sure to fall in love with, we’ve partnered with Jenny to produce a series of kits that contain everything you need, including bespoke hand-made elements where applicable.
For example, the bodies of the Parham Owl, the Peacock and Brown Wren Etui’s are all custom 3D printed elements that come included in the kits. So too are the hand-crafted metal cast feet.
As you can appreciate, the cost to produce these highly specialized, rare and premium quality elements is significant, yet the end result you will achieve once you have completed any of these magnificent projects, is truly worthy of becoming a generational heirloom.
