Have Your Say
22ND FEBRUARY 2019 - ASU #174
Conversations draw you deeper into the life story of someone you may, or may not, have heard about - someone who has seen and done amazing things.
— Conversations with Hamish MacDonald & Sarah Kanowsk
This quote sums up beautifully how we feel about the conversations we’re sharing today! Some years ago, we heard from Peggy Kimble about how she was celebrating World Embroidery Day in Canada and since then Peggy’s become family as she often shares with us what’s going on in her place of stitch. These are her most recent updates…
‘Recently it was my 96th Birthday which was made special by visits from my family and a good stitching friend, Nancy. I received an amazing gift from Nancy – a quilt she had made. She used a design of mine that I stitched and framed a good few years ago – a crewel embroidered Tree of Life. The quilt is beautifully stitched, and I thought you might like to share my joy.’
‘Today I am sending a different photo where nature replaces my usual stitching! This is the view from my door this morning, just one little bird out there in the -18*°*c temperature. I hope you’re having a warmer day!’
Peggy, we always appreciate you keeping us up to date with your comings and goings and for your willingness to keep the conversation going. 96 is quite the milestone and Nancy’s quilt has marked the occasion in spectacular fashion! It looks likes the extreme weather we’re experiencing in both hemispheres is encouraging us all to stay indoors and stitch – yours because of the freezing temperatures and ours because of the searing heat!
